Welcome to Hazel Belle's Caramels, where every bite tells a tale of family, tradition, and a whole lot of love. Discover what makes our caramels truly exceptional.

Whiskers, our family dog who later became my grandma's, also knew where she kept the caramels.

The inspiration behind Hazel Belle's

Why hello there! Pull up a chair and let me introduce you to my family. Hazel Cummins lived in the small town of Mt. Vernon Kentucky, in Rockcastle County. "She made the best caramels in all of Kentucky!" Well now, that isn't the least bit true. She was too busy fishing the many beautiful lakes surrounding her home. However, she always kept caramels in her sideboard cupboard. You know, the little hard cubes individually wrapped in cellophane.

My sister Evelyn (left) and me devilishly grinning and probably getting on Hazel's last nerve.

Our journey to exceptional caramels

Evelyn and I grew up loving caramel as a result, and since we really don't care much for fishing, we culled our favorite recipes and got creative with others, resulting in Hazel Belle's exceptional caramels. As you pursue the different selections, you'll meet more of my family.

The name Hazel Belle

As a young girl I always loved the name Hazel Belle. I actually don't think my grandmother had a middle name, so I've given her one. Bonus!  It rhymes with care-a-MEL. It perfectly captures the charm and warmth we pour into every batch of our caramels.

"As soon as they savor our candies, I hope people are transported back to the warmth of authentic Southern charm, experiencing the comforting embrace that these caramels provide."
